Dr Chris Gallavin LLB (Hon) (Cant), PhD (Hull) is a Senior Lecturer of law at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He is also the Director of Postgraduate Studies at the School of Law. He is the Editor of the New Zealand Armed Forces Law Review and the Review Editor of the New Zealand Yearbook of International Law. He was a Plumer Fellow of St Anne’s College, Oxford University in 2006. He currently lectures criminal law, evidence and public international law at Canterbury.
Before becoming an academic he worked in the New Zealand Justice Department (Courts) for six years. He has a number of publications both in New Zealand and English based journals in the area of international criminal justice, domestic criminal justice and public law. His book on the law of evidence (published through Lexis Nexis) is due in the shops in May 2008.
